What Motivates you?

What Motivates You?

By: Liz Moore

This morning I had a conversation with a client about motivation. She is on her own fitness journey, working hard, and wanted to know what motivates me in my fitness journey. Here is what I responded:

1. I love feeling the adrenaline in my veins. It reminds me of when I ran track in high school. I ran the 4×100 4×200 and 4×400 meter relays. The girls I ran these relays with, I will never forgot them, and I’m still friends with them today. I loved passing other runners and running the final 100 yards past the stands and hearing my teammates cheering. When I workout now, no one is cheering, but that same feeling I used to get running track is what I feel during a great workout. Sometimes I still get goosebumps. I love that adrenaline feeling.

2. I take pride in my body and how I feel. I like how my body looks and feels when I’m on a regular workout schedule. I have more energy and am confident in myself. The older I get, the harder it is to maintain my body. But I love the challenge and the time I spend training. I love the feeling after a workout: I feel a sense of accomplishment that I can’t find doing anything else. We only get one body and I want to look and feel the best I can with this one body.

3. Lastly, I love helping people and answering this question, “What motivates you?” I hope this message can inspire at least one of you to get in a great workout today or continue your healthy lifestyle!

So, what motivates YOU?!?
